Matt grew up in Carmel, Indiana, before heading to Indiana University where he earned his degree in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management. Beyond his undergraduate work, Matt has also completed three levels of training with Global University for ordination in ministry—a reflection of his deep commitment to service and leadership.
Today, Matt calls Columbus, Ohio home, where he lives with his wife Alicia and their two children. The Ostermeyer family has been in Columbus for years, building roots and community in a city they've come to love. Matt and Alicia celebrated seven years of marriage this year, navigating the adventure of parenthood together while pursuing their respective callings.
When he's not working, Matt is all about people. Whether it's time with his wife and kids, catching up with close friends, or exploring something new, Matt thrives on genuine connection. You might find him on the pickleball court, diving into a good book, planning the family's next travel adventure, or catching a game. At his core, Matt's passion centers on three things: his faith in Jesus, his family and friends, and the opportunity to explore the world through travel.
Matt's professional journey has been defined by his ability to create something meaningful from the ground up. After graduating from IU, he jumped into campus ministry at his alma mater, investing in students and building programs for three years. When the opportunity arose to pioneer a new campus ministry at The Ohio State University, Matt and Alicia made the move to Columbus.
For five years, Matt led and grew the ministry at Ohio State, developing systems, mentoring students, and building a team of leaders. But his vision extended beyond the campus. In 2025, Matt and Alicia, alongside a team of alumni from their ministry, launched a new church in Columbus—a bold step that required vision, planning, and the ability to rally people around a shared mission.
That same year, Matt made another significant transition: joining Liftify as an Operations Specialist. The move came through an unexpected offer from his friend Jeremy, already part of the Liftify team. After prayerful consideration, Matt and Alicia recognized it was the right step for their family and their future.
Matt's ministry background might seem unconventional for a tech operations role, but the skills translate seamlessly. Years of organizing teams, managing complex initiatives, and serving diverse groups prepared him perfectly for the operational challenges at Liftify.
